MANUAL THERAPY

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a way of treating musculoskeletal conditions with the use of the practitioner’s hands. Examples of manual therapy include joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, and myofascial release. These skills are typically used to relieve pain, normalize mobility and decrease high muscle tone. To acquire manual therapy skills a physical therapist will pursue additional continuing education experience, advanced training, and certifications.

At Pacific Physical Therapy our physical therapists have completed advanced manual therapy training and are experienced with manual therapy treatments. We believe that hands-on active treatment is one of the best ways to restore function. By utilizing joint and spinal mobilizations these treatments help restore proper range of motion, myofascial release, and soft tissue mobilizations.
